The point-of-sale app for Android tablets
An Android tablet and five minutes: that is all it takes to open a till. MaCaisse installs from Google Play or from a signed installation file, walks you through a setup wizard, and rings up sales the same day. No terminal to buy, no engineer to call out.
What hardware you need
Android 7.0 or newer, on a tablet. That is the whole requirement. Entry-level models sold since 2017 do the job: a till does not need a fast machine, it needs a readable screen and a battery that lasts a shift.
The built-in camera replaces the barcode scanner. You hold a product up to the lens and it is found. A dedicated scanner stays an option for later, if your volume calls for one.
A receipt printer joins whenever you want one, not before. MaCaisse drives thermal printers over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and you can perfectly well start with none at all, working from the screen.
On a Sunmi P2 or P3 terminal, the app installs from the Sunmi store and drives the built-in printer and barcode reader directly. Nothing to plug in.
Installing it
The shortest route is Google Play, which handles installation and updates on its own. For a tablet shipped without Google services, an installation file sits on our site, with the four steps written out.
Either way the app opens on a first-run wizard: language, country, currency, type of business, till password. A few minutes in all.

What it does once installed
Several people on the same till
Each person opens their own session with one tap. Their sales are attributed to them, and their figures come out in the end-of-shift report. Across several tablets joined by the shop Wi-Fi, everyone works on the same tables and the same stock.
Stock that keeps itself
Every sale takes stock down at the real cost of the batch concerned, FIFO. Supplier deliveries, returns, stocktakes and write-offs all feed the same calculation. You know what is left, and what it cost you.
Net profit, not just turnover
Recipe cards carry the material cost of each item. Combined with recorded expenses and stocktake corrections, they give the real profit for the day — what is left once everything is counted out.
Your customers and their tab
Customer records, loyalty points, credit with a ceiling, reseller pricing. The neighbourhood tab, kept properly and readable at any moment.
Reports
Z report, breakdown by seller, average basket, best sellers. Readable on the tablet, printable, and viewable from a browser when the tablet is linked to an online account.
Without Google Play: the installation file
Plenty of tablets ship without Google services. MaCaisse then downloads straight from macaisse.net, as an Android installation file.
Every version published on our site carries the same digital signature, and the file SHA-256 fingerprint is printed next to the download link. You can check that the file you are installing is the one we produced — and Android will refuse to install, over MaCaisse, any version we did not sign.

On iPhone and iPad
The iOS version is going through Apple review. It will be on the App Store, with the same features and the same data as the Android version.
Frequently asked questions
Does MaCaisse run on an Android phone, or only on a tablet?
Both. The interface adapts to the screen size. A phone does the job for counter sales or a market stall; for table service with a floor plan, a tablet is more comfortable.
What is the minimum Android version?
Android 7.0 or newer. Tablets sold since 2017 qualify, entry-level models included.
Do I need an internet connection to take payment?
No. Checkout, stock, receipts and reports all run on the tablet local database. The connection is only used to sync with the web account and to renew the subscription.
Do I have to buy a barcode scanner?
No. The tablet camera reads barcodes. A dedicated scanner remains an option if volume justifies it, but it is not needed to start.
What does the app cost?
The download is free and the trial carries no commitment. Subscription terms are set out on this site.
